What is the CFA?

The eligibility of a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) is reviewed and granted by the U.S. CFA Institute (CFAI). The review mainly involves a written exam organized by the CFAI, which assesses the investment expertise of the CFA candidate. The CFAI is an institution specializing in the research of securities analysis, investment management, and investment decisioning in the U.S.A. The tradition of the CFA examination began more than 40 years ago. Since CFA certification was first awarded in 1963, the Chartered Financial Analyst name (CFA) quickly became a world-recognized standard of professionalism for finance and investment personnel. To date, more than 75,000 people have received CFA certification. In Taiwan, many major financial institutions and asset management companies have listed CFA qualification as one of the advantages or priority considerations during recruitment.

The value of the CFA certification

Each year, more than 100,000 professionals from more than 100 countries worldwide participate in the CFA exam (3 levels in total). It has become one of the most highly-recognized certification to the world's financial service and investment management institutions. More than half of all renowned foreign analysts in Taiwan have attained CFA status. Young talents are also treating this certification as an entry to careers in foreign asset management companies. Therefore, we recommend the sooner you attain CFA certification, the sooner your career advances.
